april2012

No kidding, it's already been a year with our new site. Cripes, it's almost time to update it. But, that's for another time, and another place.

So, it's been a month, and it's time to catch up:

1. We had a good show at the end of March, thanks for making the time to come out on a workday people, we seriously (literally, honestly, actually) appreciate the support.

2. The new LP is coming along, slowly, but coming along. We're keeping on track (pun is there for the Tafting), and it'll be great getting back into New Alliance to do some recording.

3. We were recently asked to make one of our songs downloadable for Rock Band. We'll be figuring out the logistics to that this month, and who knows, maybe someday we'll come to your house and show you how to play one of our songs... with real instruments.

4. New show booked for June, this is a big bill, and we're opening up, meaning we're on at 8pm prompt. Come support local music, it'll make you feel good - promise.

That about does it for news this month (or in this case, last month). Enjoy your April showers and we'll be sure to catch up for the May flowers. All Aboard - xo!

Time is flying, and with that comes some TT updates:

1. We're all pretty f*cking dumb
2. We're all pretty f*cking old
3. We're all pretty f*cking tired
4. We're all pretty f*cking excited

The new album pre-production is coming along great. We've got many new songs, some of which we'll be sharing with you March 28th. Nothing too crazy to report other than that. We've had a Global Warming Winter up here in Boston, didn't really get much snow, and now the geese are flying back for the Spring.

Till next month, have some sillyness. It's not a real song, but we probably jammed on this for way too long (seriously). We just gotta give you something to take home though. If the dentist gives you stuff, so should we. Smile!

Well hello, hello (again), and thanks for checking in - we've missed you.

Good things happened in January, played two great shows, and sold out O'Briens on a Friday evening. Which, come to find out, doesn't happen all that often anymore. Thanks to all of you for coming and supporting us, we really appreciate it (seriously, we honestly do appreciate it).

Here's a video from that there show, sorry for the quality, O'B's was having lighting troubles that evening, and it's off an iPhone. This is the newest song in the bunch, titled Homeless Santa Handjobs (Feel free to thank Larry for that one). Video was taken by Franny Stephan, PR and Marketing for COTE.

On other news we've begun pre-production on our newest album, which will be an LP. We're pretty excited about this, but it will take a little longer than expected - we feel the wait will be worth it. Studio tracking begins in April and is expected to be done by June (at the latest), of course we'll keep you posted as the time gets near.

And finally, we're always looking for more shows, if you know anyone that's looking for a gig, or wants to invite us to a gig, please send them our way. We do have a show March 28, Upstairs at the Middle East with Tired Old Bones, Labirinto (touring band from Brazil) and Goddard (members of Mike's old band Calumet Hecla). It's gonna be a great show - promise!

Alright, enough type, it's time to get this month underway...

Loves and hugs from all of us - xo!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sick of hearing (or in this case, reading) that yet? Yah, we are too. Moving on, two shows this month, we hope to see some familiar faces, and of course new faces as well. We'll have a brand new song in the lineup, looking forward to sharing it with you (sorry, there's no audio or video of it yet). We discussed the new album, and are in the works of booking time in February (at New Alliance Studios, naturally). Still haven't decided on another EP or an LP, but either way, we'll have more music for you before summer hits. As always, thanks for dropping by the page, and hope to see you this month at the shows! —TT

It's been a few months, sorry about that (We started this thinking we're going to have time to update this regularly, no such luck). We have a few more songs in our arsnenault - we're looking forward to sharing them with all ya'll. You can get a listen to one of them below, it's from our CD release of Swell. We're still planning on recording sometime this winter, but can't decide if we should do a full length or another EP. As with everything, money is an issue, well, that and time. Regardless, thanks for tuning in and enjoy the video of one of our new ones (Gang ’04)...

Buy it today on iTunes, or send us a message and we'll mail it to you, better yet, come to a show, check us out, and buy it from us face to face - it's only $3.

Swell

Either way, if you like Act Natural, we know you're going to love Swell. It's three songs filled with everything you'd expect, and everything you wouldn't, from your favorite unknown American band. Kidding, we all know 'Gringo and the Repeats Repeats' is everyone's favorite unknown American act.

Be sure to check us out at our next show, or hang tight for our next release due out this winter titled, Lobster's Casino.

Big loves, and lots of hugs - TT

We've finally finished our website! Exciting isn't it? Ok, not really, it's not exciting at all, it is what it is, and that's just that. (If there's any other obvious statements you'd like to insert here, by all means do so.) We spent a lot of time in 2009 and most of 2010 refining the songs on Act Natural (and a few others we coulnd't fit onto it), and then kind of blew it by not doing an official release. But, that's ok, 'cause we have another album in the works and are looking to have that released sometime this summer. It will be another EP, and we just know you're gonna like it. Stay tuned for more shows, that's our bread and butter, heart and soul - we'll be rockin' your area soon enough.

-xo-

quote

with vocalist Larry Chiswick (ex-All Parallels) leading the charge with impassioned vocals. Mike Ducott (ex-Calumet Hecla) and Rob Gonnella (studio guru of New Alliance East) weave and intertwine melodies and rhythms, with engineering aficionado Jon Taft and Worcester/Boston linchpin Damian Adshead providing low end and beats, respectively.

Two years in the making, Act Natural is a flyer for the band’s amazing live show, and the live shows are flyers for Swell, their forthcoming long-player, coming in September. Get on board now, while there’s still room."
